Start with the customer's question, not the technology. A product can benefit from several ways of being explored, but each experience should have a clear job.
Use a 3D viewer to explain the object
A browser-based viewer lets a visitor rotate and zoom into a model. It is useful when the underside, profile, construction, or material detail matters to a buying decision. Keep the product easy to inspect, with a useful opening angle and enough space around it.
The viewer should support the product information already on the page. Keep dimensions, specifications, and the next step nearby rather than expecting the model to communicate everything.
Use product AR to explain scale and placement
For furniture and other objects placed in a room, AR can help someone compare the product with their own surroundings. Correct scale begins with verified model dimensions. An appealing render alone is not enough.
Camera access and a supported device and browser are required for AR placement. Keep an ordinary 3D view or product images available for visitors who cannot launch AR or do not want to use their camera.
Use virtual try-on to preview appearance
Try-on suits products positioned relative to a person, such as eyewear, rings, and watches. The asset must be prepared for the intended tracking mode and checked from different viewpoints.
Treat the result as a visual preview. It is not a guarantee of physical fit, comfort, or sizing. Product measurements and fitting guidance still belong alongside the experience.
Test the complete customer journey
Check the experience on the devices your audience uses. Follow the path from the product page into the viewer and back again, including camera permission being declined. Make sure the product identity, selected variant, and enquiry or purchase path stay clear.
